burgmaster turret drill

Hi Ed.

Do you have a burgmaster turret drill?

I recently bought one (well, actually  3. Two that seem fully functional and one that is missing a couple parts and doesn't rotate the turret). I'm checking them over and cleaning them up.

The manuals I found refer to a clutch/spindle removal tool.  Is that absolutely essential to pulling the spindles to change the speeds?

I haven't been able to even locate a picture of what it looks like.

Thanks.  🙂

Hi Karl!   Nice to have ya here!   OK..... Burgmaster..... yes, I have 4 of them.  All are the OB models, one that I use, and 3 for parts.   The short answer is yes, you must pull the turret to get to the spindles.   I also found it necessary to built a small slide hammer for pulling the spindles..... with a threaded rod on the end that matches the hole/internal threads on the spindles.

you're going to love your burgomaster. Ive had mine for many years and its great especially for folder making.
