Marking your Blades.... My Thoughts
So often I see decent looking knives, marked with some obscure logo, or even Initials.... Never have figured out why anyone with any level of professionalism would do that. Here are my thought on marking blades:

Agree. I've been marking my knives with my first and last name for the past few years. I'm changing to a just a very basic M~Kirby on the ricasso or somewhere near the spine of other knives for now.
I really like that idea/mark (K~Kirby)! I have a gentleman here in the shop right now, and we discussed marking blades with the Maker's name. I think it became clear when I said.... "Your name on a knife IS your advertisement." In most cases, folks who see a knife, and whom consider buying one, will see the name, and as soon as possible with go to a google search and type that name in, along with the word "Knife" or "Knives"...... if the maker doesn't pop up somewhere on the first page....the individual will usually move along to someone else, that is easier to find.

While we're on the topic, I have a question for the group. Ya'll stamping or etching your work?
I'm currently etching my knives. Keep in mind that I'm using 1084 and 80CrV2 exclusively right now, so nothing too fancy but amazing performance and finish. As I begin progressing to damascus, I've thought of stamping due to visibility. Thoughts or recommendations?

First.... you need to understand that you are on a forum of CUSTOM Knifemakers/Bladesmiths.
First, you obviously did not read anything. These forums REQUIRE YOU TO US A REAL NAME when you post on this forum.
Next, you are posting on a topic of MARKING YOUR BLADES, which has nothing to do with what you are asking/talking about.
I visited your link, and found so many mistakes, misspellings, improper grammar, and even noticed some of the images you have used are those of other knifemakers' knives, or other knifemakers' designs. Some of which I know personally, and have spoken with them about the very thing you are doing. I submit that many of what you call "my designs" are literally stolen from others/around the web.
I've had far too many dealings/interactions with individuals from China, calling themselves "knifemakers", that are in reality predators, stealing others' designs, and having them MANUFACTURED with cheap materials, and poor quality.....and can see nothing in your link that leads me to believe otherwise. If you want to "speak" with me, you can send me a PM, otherwise DO NOT post anymore of your JUNK posts on this forum. They will be removed.... and YOU will be banned. PERIOD!

This is the exact kind of crap that I've seen all too often on other forums. When tolerated, it ruins the vibe very quickly and is the reason that I choose to participate in two. This forum and the ABS.
There's so much information available online that it can make your head spin when trying to sort through the garbage to find solid guidance. Especially when someone is starting out.

I decided it was time to start marking my blades with a different stencil. The first picture is what I've used since 2016. The second one is what I'll be using going forward (at least for the time being). Patricia at IMG is great to work with and helped me out with a few different sizes to use depending on ricasso size. I just think the new one looks classier.
